Pinkpantheress owned February

A month long victroy lap, celebrating her artisty

If February 2026 belonged to any singular artist it would easily have to be pinkpantheress. This February just been felt like a culmination of the grind that pinkpantheress has been on for the past several years. Every single week her name was in the headlines for one achievement, or milestone or for just looking like a million bucks. She dominated February and there are few less deserving.

Pinkpantheress’ massive month started off with her attending the Grammys, her 2025 record ‘Fancy That’ (Which we named as one of our albums of the year) nominated for best dance/ electronic album and the smash hit ‘Illegal’ nominated for best dance pop recording. Despite losing both nominations, she left arguably one of the most talked about acts of the night behind Bad Bunny. Donned in archive Vivienne Westwood, pinkpantheress took the red carpet by storm, her authentic charm and expression creating several viral moments. The most famous of which was her flustered reaction to being told “You look like a million bucks.”, the interview with AP has been clipped and spread across the internet, amassing tens of millions of views across multiple platforms.

Following her viral grammy moment Pinkpantheress ditched the stateside and flew down under to headline Australia and New Zealand’s largest indie music festival, Laneway. The festival stopped in Auckland, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with a stacked bill not only featuring Pinkpantheress, but also the likes of the Dare, Wolf Alice, Wet Leg, Role Model, New Zealand’s own BENEE, Australia’s Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and of course Chappel Roan. Many have hailed the 2026 edition of the ARIA award winning festival as its best lineup yet, which is a testimony to the acts themselves, considering its previous features. The year prior alone featured Charli XCX, Olivia Dean, Joey Valence & Brae and Ninajirachi. Other incredible Laneway lineups include 2020 with the 1975, Rüfüs Du Sol, Charli XCX, Fontaines DC, Earl Sweatshirt and Omar Apollo, 2013 with Lorde, Haim, Jamie XX and Vance Joy. It is a massive achievement, especially as an international act to headline this festival.

Laneway’s one mistake though, was not putting Pinkpantheress on the main stage for every stop of the festival. Relegating Pinkpantheress to the Everything Ecstatic stage -essentially an over glorified tent- for the majority of the duration of the festival. The exception to this being at the festival’s first stop in Auckland where the stage was placed out in the open. In Australia many attendees could not see her due to the stage reaching capacity, leading to the hilarious moment of some fans climbing trees in order to catch a glimpse of the singer, but also the more unfortunate crowd crushes from people rushing to catch her set. Despite this setback, her time at laneway was ultimately a success, over 210 000 people attended the festival and her set was one of the best. It also featured several changes from her US headline tour, including new visuals and a remix of ‘Boys a Liar Pt. 2’ which sampled the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s ‘Heads Will Roll’ During Ice Spice’s verse.

Mid February saw the beginning of the Milan 2026 Winter Olympics, the press especially interested in the US figure skater Alysa Liu. Despite retiring and taking over two years off from the sport, she’d never been in better shape, ranked number one in the world and the favourite to win in all her events. With Russia banned for doping, her biggest competition was gone. And she did just that, winning gold in the women’s singles and team event. To round out her Olympics, Alysa Liu performed her incredible presentation skate to ‘Stateside’ ft Zara Larson. The song had been slowly gaining traction online, with both Pinkpantheress and Larson agreeing that this gave the song a new surge of life and thanking the gold-medalist.

During this time it was also revealed that Pnkpantheress would be receiving the award for producer of the year at the Brits. Not only is this an incredible personal achievement, but an important part of musical history. In winning this award, Pinkpantheress is not only the first woman to receive it, but at the age of just 24, she is also the youngest ever recipient. Her album’s ’Fancy That’ and ‘Fancy Some More’ feature her as the primary producer, sampling UK drum and bass classics, and putting her own modern spin on it while still appealing to the nostalgia of the Y2K area. To accompany the award, Pinkpantheress also did the public transport announcements to and from the Brits, playfully referencing her viral moment from the Grammys during it.

Pinkpantheress was not done with February yet, in the final week of the month, Stateside ft Zara Larsson became her highest charting song yet. The song went number one on the spotify global chart and number two on the spotify US chart, where it still remains. On the Billboard Hot 100 the song sits at a peak of 13 and is continuing to gain in popularity. Could this be the British singer-songwriter’s first Billboard number one? The momentum of the song doesn’t seem to be slowing down with Pinkpantheress announcing her Europe tour that kicks off in May. She’s also heading Stateside once more in April with her tour and Zara Larsson has just started her own US tour, adding Stateside to the set list. It seems like everything is lining up for this song to be a number one smash hit.

February has been a month-long career defining moment for Pinkpantheress. From awards, to tours, to smash hits and the Olympics, there is no debating how massive she was this February.
